Will Ospreay Believes He Has Eclipsed What SANADA Is Doing In NJPW

Will Ospreay wants to make the IWGP United Kingdom Championship mean more than SANADA“s IWGP Heavyweight title.

IWGP United Kingdom Champion Will Ospreay was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast. When asked if he feels he’s the man who should dethrone SANADA for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, Ospreay said he believes he has eclipsed SANADA.

“There is no question that I have eclipsed SANADA every single time,” Will Ospreay said. “Even now, when you watch the difference in our singles matches, the difference in the people that are paying attention to those singles matches. I clearly am in that position to be a World Heavyweight Champion. It’s not just not come my way yet. I haven’t been able to call my shot.

“But until then, watch me make the UK Championship mean more than the world championship. I’m doing that, with that classic match with Yota Tsuji, with the way that I won it against Kenny Omega, with the guys I’ve defeated along the way, like Okada, Chris Jericho, Shingo Takagi, and now defending it against Zack Sabre Jr., which is probably gonna be another five-star match. To do that and to know that guy couldn’t beat me on his best day, I know I can be world champion again.”
