Watch Twenty One Pilots Perform for Radio 1's Live Lounge
Twenty One Pilots kicked off Radio 1’s Live Lounge month on the 1st November, performing three of their own songs, in addition to a special cover.
17 artists in total will perform over the course of the month, meaning there will be plenty more to look forward to! In the past, The 1975 have covered One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer took on Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘Drown’ and Panic! At The Disco performed one of Dua Lipa’s huge anthems. With the live lounge, we’re always in for a treat.
Unlike most live lounge performances, which take place at Radio 1’s studios in London, Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots opened the event from Newport Music Hall in Colombus, Ohio.
With just Tyler and his piano, we were gifted to a stripped down version of the band’s latest single, ‘My Blood’, from their new album Trench, Blurryface classic ‘Ride’ as we’ve never seen before and a cover of Damien Rice’s ‘9 Crimes’. And perhaps the most unexpected live lounge performance we know of, Tyler performed a haunting rendition of ‘Neon Gravestones’, another song from Trench, that has an incredibly powerful message. It’s safe to say it’s a great, yet emotional, time to be a Twenty One Pilots fan!

Midway through October, Twenty One Pilots began their huge world tour in support of Trench. Currently, they’re in the US, but they will also be heading to cities across Australia and Europe, with recently added dates in Northern America.
