Ward Thomas Hope To Release New Album in the New Year!

2016 was a massive year for British country duo Ward Thomas. Their sophomore album ‘Cartwheels‘ topped the Official UK Album Chart making them the first ever Brit country act to score a number 1 LP. During the year they also embarked on a sold-out tour of the UK and Ireland, and performed at a number of festivals around the country.

And 2017 has been just as if not even more busy for the Hampshire born twin sisters. So far they have completed their biggest tour to date with shows all across the UK as part of their second Cartwheels tour. Performed at huge festivals including the likes of Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival, and have also performed in Germany and Australia for the first time.

Check our our exclusive interview with the twins to find out what they said about their last tour, festival dates, new album and more.

And next month they will support US country superstar Miranda Lambert on the UK and Netherlands leg of her Highway Vagabond Tour.

Along with a jam packed schedule of tour dates and festival slots, Ward Thomas have also found time to release a further two singles off the ‘Cartwheels’ record; ‘Boomerang‘ and ‘Material‘. And they also released a covers EP titled ‘A Shorter Story‘ back in March.

But that’s not all. The talented pair have also been in the recording studio working on their third album. They have co-written with Jin Jin who has written for huge names including Jess Glynne and Little Mix. They have also been working with Grammy award winning producer Samuel Dixon.

And now the British country duo have revealed when they hope to release their third LP. Speaking to London Mums backstage at this year’s Cornbury Festival, Catherine and Lizzy said: “[we’ll] get back into the studio at the end of the year and hopefully [release] a third album in the new year”.
